could be preventable

Rumors. Speculations. Tittle-tattle. Conjecture. Where does it all begin? I have now confirmed my thoughts on the matters of which you would want to keep them private. Even if you thought sharing it among a couple of your closest pals or confidants to be completely harmless and undiscovered, think again.
I myself have committed this mistake time and time again, and yet I don't know why I am still vulnerable to it. It is utterly illogical come to think of it for I should be able to avoid it due to my familiarity with it. I knew that I should have kept it to myself instead of blurting it out to so-and-so. Well to my defense, I thought that the miles of open ocean that separates us was a pretty safe bet. However, that was all it took to be the impetus of my revealing to the other important individual what I have been hiding and pushing towards the back of my head for quite some time now. Funny enough, the person kind of knew about it already and only waiting for my confirmation of which I happily handed over. Then again, so-and-so probably would not have come to the conclusion him or herself if it wasn't for me who vented my frustration on the matter lately.
I don't have the slightest idea as to why I chose the timing to be at present. I could handle it perfectly for months prior to this sudden occurence. Why did I have to lose my cool when I was holding on to my veneer so nicely? Ugh. This is why I dislike admitting something verbally or written because once the admission is complete, you can't rewind it and take it back because it's slowly making its way to be believable and warranted. Hence, it becomes true which will find its way to make itself known to the public as a mere heresay pending verification at the slight slip on my part via actions, spoken words, facial expressions or even body language which is the most deadly for the strongest evidence to me is one that doesn't involve a lot of words. Simply because you can dismiss your emotions with the correct words, but your body language almost always give you away to your real feelings. I'm not saying that the people whom I had confided in are not trustworthy. I'm only pointing out that sometimes it makes you wonder whether there is a fly on the wall spying on you and collecting juicy informations without your knowledge. Something like what a spyware does on your computer. Are the walls too thin that spoken thoughts simply seeps through them? So what's the lesson behind all this? Confess nothing, say nothing, hold on to your facade if you want your secret to remain well, a secret.

to act or not to act contrite?

Mum sent me this email and I thought I would share this with you readers. *peace*

21 Things A Girl Should Never Apologize For:

1) Never apologize for pursuing what makes you happy. Even if you need to quit your job, transfer schools, or move across country, always do what you really want.
2) Never apologize for using proper English. Keeping it real doesn't mean you have to speak Ebonics..

3) Never apologize for giving your best in a relationship that just didn't work out. (Train yourself to avoid saying "I'm sorry it didn't work out")
4) Never apologize for crying. Wear waterproof mascara and express yourself. (Need to work on this one, without waterproof mascara hehe)
5) Never apologize for being successful. Only haters want to keep you at their level.
6) Never apologize for ten pounds you need to lose. People who truly care about you will accept you as you are.
7) Never apologize for wearing a weave or braids. You bought it so it's yours. (Don't think this applies to me, lol)
8) Never apologize for being frugal. Just because you save your money instead of blowing it on the latest fashion emergency doesn't mean you're cheap.
9) Never apologize for treating yourself to something special. Sometimes you have to show yourself some appreciation. (This, I completely agree!)
10) Never apologize for demanding respect. You are always to be treated as a Queen. (Queen? yeah, right, sure....)

11) Never apologize for leaving an abusive relationship. Your safety should always be a priority.
12) Never apologize for keeping the ring even if you did not get married..(cool, should store this piece of info at the back of my head should I need to retrieve it someday)
13) Never apologize for setting high standards in a relationship. You know what you can tolerate and what simply gets on your nerves. (Exactly, see, I'm not apologizing, no more)
14) Never apologize for dating outside your race. Just because you found Mr. Right across the color line doesn't mean you don't love your Brothas..(haha, in other words, do not discriminate based on race)
15) Never apologize to your new friends about old friends. There's a reason she's been your girl from day one.

16) Never apologize for ordering dessert or more than one dessert. (I've never apologize for ordering sweet and high-in-calorie foods)
17) Don't apologize for being a single Mom. Babies are a blessing.
18) Never apologize for saying NO (But that can sometimes make you appear mean and apathetic, don't you agree?)

19) Never apologize for not knowing how to cook. Even if you can't burn like Grandma you know how to order good take out. (This goes out to a certain girl I know *wink* "Hey T")
20) Never apologize for making more money than your man, you work hard and you deserve to get paid.
21) Never apologize for being you! KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT GOD LOVES YOU AND HE ALWAYS HAS YOUR BACK!
