Melbourne. Two words – Freezing cold. Yes, it’s freaking cold since it’s fall now heading for winter. I didn’t think it would be this cold. Yesterday, it was 6 degrees Celsius, 6! The lowest that I’ve ever set the temperature of the air-conditioner is 16 ºC. So, imagine 10 ºC lower than that plus the cool wind blowing constantly in your face. It feels like I’m standing right below the air-cond. My hands were freezing eventhough I had gloves on. I have no idea how I’m going to survive in the States..haha I don’t think I’ll be going out much during the winter. Oh, and I have been walking a lot since I got here. I’m not even sure how far I’ve walked already. What I do know is that it’s definitely more than 2 km…definitely…and it’s not like walking at a leisurely pace, it’s brisk-walking. Everyone here walks fast; it amazes me when I see people walking past me with high-heel boots especially when I’m going uphill. Having to walk here all the time makes me miss my car so badly and speaking about cars, O-M-G I saw my dream car one night but it was white in color. The one that I want is in black but whatever it’s still the same model. I’m absolutely jealous of the people here with their luxury cars. Everytime I cross the road, I will see a Beamer, a Porsche, or an Audi. Oh n a lot of superbikes; my brother will definitely miss his bike when he comes here during his school holidays. I saw a couple of black Ninja Kawasaki and the bright neon green one so far. That’s why I’m positive that he will miss his bike as his bike is the black one…it’s quite the same…the bikes here are not modified much…haha. In a nutshell, I want my Savvy here…hahaha..I don’t want to walk anymore…I don’t even walk to class…most of the time...NOT ALL the time kay..hehe
Let’s move on to last night’s festivities. My mum’s company was having this farewell dinner for an employee at this Thai restaurant at Chinatown. If I’m not mistaken, the name of the restaurant is Sawasdee. The food was pretty good I guess; the fried rice that I shared with my mum was scrumptious..hmm what’s it called..Kao Phat Prit...haha it sounds like nasi goreng padprik doesn’t it? But it doesn’t taste like it though which was a good thing. There were a lot of people there; I think the whole employees of the firm in Mel were present. The people there had to connect a lot of tables for us all..haha it was quite a long stretch of tables as you can see in the photo. It wasn’t that weird for me as I previously had thought it would be. I mean like surrounded by working adults....haha what was I going to talk about? How was I going to enjoy the dinner? Fortunately, there was these few people who I could talk to and they were genuinely interested in the conversation and asking me lots of questions. Overall, the dinner was somewhat pleasurable. Great food. Good company. Got to spend time with my mum. The only complaint I had was the freezing cold walk back to the apartment at Freshwater Place. That’s all...:)

social gathering
Hello....i'm back from that dreadful BTN (biro tatanegara) camp. Gosh, it was so freaking tiring. I'll blog about that later though. Right now i'm going to blog about the day after i got back from the camp. Where to start? okay...let's begin with the text that i received when i switched on my phone as i got back to my room at INTI. A friend of mine, (the one in the blue shirt in the photo below) texted me saying let's hang out tomorrow at Pavilion around 12.30 pm. At first, i was a bit hesitant because i just got back and i'm all worn out. But then, as i unpack n pack the stuff to bring back home, i thought what the heck, let's just go tomorrow...i really do miss my ol' friends. So, the outing began with me at klcc to meet up with her and 2 other friends. We took a ride from him(the guy in the red shirt in the 3rd photo) from klcc to pav. I didn't drive because my car just got painted and it's sooo shiny n pretty...haha..The three of us went to Subway to grab a bite to eat (4th pic). The guys went to Starbucks to smoke and got their coffee fix for the day...but i know they wanted to smoke more than to have a drink. Later, after lunch, we met up at Starbucks and wait for the others to arrive. We chatted non-stop; seriously, i can't recall any of us not talking even for a minute. hahaha....Everybody else arrived around 4.00 pm (so much for punctuality!) and we hung out and talked some more..a lot more actually...hahaWe were at the Food Republic when we decided to go somewhere else to hang. Someone, i forgot who, suggested we go to The Castle at Damai. It's an Arab restaurant with the shisha and everything. I had this Arabic non-alcoholic malt beverage. It's called Barbican and it's really good. Not kidding, I had the peach one and it's like a fruity soda but way better than the ones sold here by the F&N firms and the like, no offense. We also ordered a rose flavored shisha...that's the first i've heard of that flavor. The smell made my head spin...soon i was having a headache...haha..i didn't join them smoke the shisha this time. I've tried it a few times before..i didn't really like it. That's as far as i go in this smoking business...hahaha
Here are some of the photos at the restaurant.

I'll Be Missing You
I've been meaning to put this on my blog ever since i wrote it but the gargantuan amount of work that had to be done totally side-tracked me. So anyways, i wrote this for my mum on the day before she left. This one was quite quick too although i don't really have the 'right' melody for it yet.
You said goodbye
with a sad, little smile
on your face, i could trace
as you walked away
i wish you could stay
with me, can't you see?
but you can never tell
cause i don't let it show
now i have to let you go, and
Chorus
I need you to know
that i love you wherever you are
even if we're far apart
i'll miss you each and everyday
that you're away
i'll be missing you.
You said i'll be alright
do i look that strong in your eyes?
all the cries
done behind closed doors
where it's private, completely
you'd never see, but
[chorus]
I'll be missing you
today and tomorrow and the day after
i'll still miss you
i'll wait for your return
keep a look out for you on the horizon
in the meantime
i'll be missing you.
author's note: I hope my mum never finds out about this though.

lassitude
I am so exhausted, mentally, physically, and emotionally. I don't think i need to clarify as to why i'm so tired mentally. Physically, I'm worn out because i haven't had enough sleep, and i don't sleep at my usual hour anymore. When i don't have enough sleep, i'm prone to get the sniffles which makes studying much more difficult. Imagine having to have a tissue box in front of you while reading bio and trying to understand and remember what you've read and also at the same time holding a tissue near your nose as you try to stop the 'unclosed tap'. Plus, i can't seem to get rid of this bloody headache since yesterday...arrghh..what is happening??? I'm also emotionally drained. I can't remember a day where i didn't cry at all lately. Hmm...let's try to recall............................................................................................................................................................nope. can't remember. She left on saturday night. Her plane took off at about 9.30 pm. The last mental picture i had of her was her going down the escalator at the gate. She was waving goodbye as she said "don't cry". How am i supposed to do that when she herself was crying? I told myself before that i wasn't going to cry. And then, her eyes were starting to water, and i can't see people crying cause i have the tendency to follow suit. That's all i have to hold on to for 6 months. That's half a year. I won't be able to see my mum for half a year. Everytime i think about her, my eyes start to water. And so far without failing, i've managed to weep after I've done my prayers cause i think about her afterwards. Oh yeah, and after i talk to her through YM and hearing her voice, i shed some tears when she had to go cause it's 11 at night already over there and she has to sleep cause she has to wake up early for work. So yeah, i'm pretty much all around fatigued. I feel like i'm falling apart, and i'm trying to keep myself together for me and for my younger bro and for my mum. She wouldn't want me like this. I have to keep that in mind. I'm way much stronger than this. I've been through so much crap already, i should be able to handle this, right? Maybe, i hope so. The difference between those times and now is that at that time, my mum was close. Now, she's god knows how many miles away. People keep on pointing out to me that when i'm in the States, it'll be the same thing. But, it's not the same thing. That would be MY choice. MY departure. This-this isn't my pick. That's the difference. If you can't see what i mean, then just kindly keep your mouth shut cause i'm tired of pointing it out and explaining what i mean. I miss her, everyday. ahh..damn, here comes the waterworks.
